Thank you to Detroit Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Michigan for asking Women Living In Purpose to be apart of this very important cause. The community gathered and walked  1.5 miles in support of victims whom lost their lives to violence and their families. Violence in our communities must stop!

Hello Everyone,

I am overjoyed and overwhelmed by your support of me and The Celebration of Life Event. You all came out in the middle of a blizzard to show support to the people that their loved ones to violence. Your unselfish acts proves that we are a united people and we stand up for what is right. The proceeds made from yesterday's Winter Bowl Fundraiser will be used towards the sponsorship of Celebration of Life March 29, 2015. The Celebration of Life Event was a devine inspiration that started off small to honor one individual (or so I thought); however, this has now grown into something way beyond/bigger than me; GOD sure knows how to move. God has blessed me to be able to honor the lives of others affected by violence as well. I am truly living in my purpose. The fullfillment I've expierenced from talking to the families of all the honoree's has been life changing and for that; I am thankful. 

Again, I thank each and every one of you for your love and support. 

I had an interaction with an employee that started off routine (an upset employee and me trying to calm him down); however this, meeting was far from routine, the conversation quickly went from his dissatisfaction with the process to the secret to happiness (he said to be accepting of oneself and love yourself), to being aware of your shortcomings so they don’t hinder you; he even recommended a book for me to read (How to be your own best friend). But the biggest impact from this conversation is that he leaned in closely, eyes fixed on mine and he said “ I can tell that you are caring woman, well spoken, educated, someone that truly loves others but the main reason why I am sharing all of this with you is because I have one shot at you. And maybe something I said today will tickle your mind provoke your thoughts in a way they have not been provoked before. He said if I have accomplished that then my job here is done, not my job as a physician but my job as a human being”. WOW… how powerful was that. Since that day, I have kept those words in the forefront of my mind and with every interaction I try to live in the moment because I only have one shot at you.

Laugh, Love and Live... 

Sometimes overcoming major challenges is as simple as being able to find humor in the situation; embrace and be grateful for the lesson(s) learned and then be willing to let it go; Is it really that serious to hold on to?

It's not about molding you into something that you are not or having you do as I would do; it is about helping you find what works for you.
